The Swiss Lloyds Marine & Shipping Inspection Services

Swiss Lloyds was created in 2021, having a significant experience in assessing constructions, either in New Buildings and Repair Works. Corossion Mapping of Vessels, using Advanced NDT methods and latest technology equipment, is our strong point.

We are assessing structures according the Pressure Equipment Directive and Lifting Equipment Inspection and Certification procedures.

Cargo Inspection for Oil and Gas, Bulk inspection and Chemicals Inspection, are also sectors with significant activities in the International market.

The Company is an affiliated Company to the Swiss Approval Inspection and Certification Group, based in Balerna, Switzerland.

Swiss Lloyds activities are mainly targeted as following:

ACTIVITIES

Corrosion Mapping of vessels Structure, Equipment and Mechanical Parts, using Advanced Non Destructive Testing methods.

Robotic Inspection of surfaces, Welds and Joints, using Advanced UT, like Phased Arrays and Tofd. Creeping Waves for superficial defects are also within our capacities.

To carry out a Legal Inspection and Certification activities of ships, on behalf of affiliated Shipping Registires, under their authorization and approval.

Technical supervision of floating hydro-technical structures and other hydro-technical constructions, shipbuilding and shipyards in their design, construction and operation, irrespective of their ownership, on behalf of afilliated Registers of Shipping, under their authorization and approval.

Supervision and Certification of New Construction and Conversion of Ships, on behalf of afilliated Registers of Shipping, under their authorization and approval.

Certification of Companies and Ships for the safe management and operation of ships and the prevention of pollution in accordance with the International Safety Management Code (ISM) by the IMO, on behalf of afilliated Registers of Shipping, under their authorization and approval.

The quantitative and qualitative assessment of liquid fuels carried by sea means of transport through cargo inspection and the issue of relevant certificates and compliance reports.

To provide Health and Safety Services for Workers and Citizens as an External Protection and Prevention Service (EXPIS), in accordance with the applicable health and safety regulations.

Monitoring, Review and Approval of the construction activities according Technical Designs, for New constructions and Repairs as well. Repairs are including: modifications or modernizations, as well as the monitoring and inspection of  metalic works, ship machinery replacement, equipment under pressure, appliances, refrigerators, containers, construction of building materials etc.. Issue of related appropriate compliance certificates.

Technical Assessment and Certification concerning the environmental and ecological safety of ships.

Examination of the Technical Situation of ships and other objects of surveillance, according to the regulatory documents of National, European or International Authorities and Specs of afilliated Shipping Registries, under their authorization and approval.

Technical Survey and measurement of ship tonnage, as well as ship registration by assessing the compliance of products, processes, services and systems related to their operation, on behalf of afilliated Registers of Shipping, under their authorization and approval.

Certification of lifting equipment and equipment on ships and floating structures, regardless of the ship’s classification or construction body.

Type assessment of Ships and Floating Structures, that the product complies with the descriptors and performance regulations stated by the manufacturer, as well as the International Regulations and Specifications, whether those of the European Union where applicable, and that it is appropriate (either the ship floating construction) for the destination for which it is designed & built, on behalf of afilliated Registers of Shipping, under their authorization and approval.
