Simple Pressure Vessel Directive 2014/29/EU – [OLD 2009/105/EC]

As «Simple Pressure Vessel» is considered any welded vessel subjected to an internal gauge pressure greater than 0,5 bar which intended use is to contain air or nitrogen, not intended to be combusted.

The Simple Pressure Vessels Directive is intended to ensure compliance of simple pressure vessels with essential and mandatory safety requirements and to harmonize the rules governing their sale within the EU.

However, only those vessels in respect of which the product of the maximum working pressure (PS) multiplied by the volume(V) exceeds 50 bar.l are required to bear the CE marking in order to be placed on the market in the EU. These vessels must comply with the essential safety requirements set out in Annex I of the Directive.

The presence of the CE marking on a simple pressure vessel is an indication that it meets the essential safety requirements in place to allow it to be sold anywhere in the European Economic Area
